First Toys

Claire has just started to notice and get excited about some of her toys. She loves Kaitlyn's mobile, and recently, she has taken a liking to her little Boppy playmat. She doesn't bat at the toys yet, but she smiles and coos when Kaitlyn turns on the butterfly and she stares at herself in the little flower mirror. It's pretty fun to watch!

Mittens!

Kaitlyn decided that 70 degrees was "too chilly" yesterday, so she put on her hat, mittens, and cable-knit tights over her clothes. It was pretty silly! I thought she would forget about it come morning, but as soon as she woke up, she pulled out her mittens.

No Dawdlers Here

The weather was nice this evening, so we decided to take a walk. Usually Kaitlyn walks (or, rather, dawdles) alongside us, but we bribed her with ice cream to ride in the backpack, and it was a great 1.5-hour walk.

More Smiles!

Claire is all about smiling these days. She looks up at you and just bursts into this huge, toothless grin. If she could giggle, she would! It's adorable. Kaitlyn, on the other hand, is working on some of her other looks. This is her "tough girl" look!

Put that Camera Away!

Sometimes I feel the need to pull out the camera and snap some shots of Claire while Kaitlyn is napping. Claire is generally amused by my silly faces and sing-song voice for the first picture or two, and then I swear she's thinking, "Put that camera away, already, Mom!"

Matchy, Matchy

The girls wore their matching dresses from Grandma and Papa Hartings to church this morning. The pre-Mass photo session started off a little rocky, but once we got Claire settled, we got a couple of cute shots. What you can't see is that they're both wearing their Adidas sneakers with their dresses (Kaitlyn outgrew her dress shoes!)

Claire has begun to smile in earnest, and each one makes my heart go pitter-pat!

Claire Meets her Godparents!

Claire didn't make a peep during the baptism, but Kaitlyn made up for her little sister's silence by crying at the fountain, "Where's Claire?! What doing to Claire?! Claire NOT okay!" We had a great weekend with Tommy and Adrienne. They spent two days entertaining Kaitlyn and getting in quality snuggle time with Claire, who was delighted with her godparents! Big Girl Bed

Kaitlyn's "big girl bed" arrived on Saturday, and Kaitlyn loves sleeping with her new pillow on her new polka-dot sheets. She ended up on the floor last night, but she wasn't fazed. We just tucked her right back into bed at 3 a.m., and this morning she was knocking on her door calling, "Good morning! Katen awake!"
