Claire is TWO!

After having to wait four whole days, Claire finally got her turn to celebrate. She started off the day with a cupcake for breakfast, then had her Pooh cake after nap. There's been a lot of sugar consumption in this house this week!!

Claire was rather mellow most of the day (tired, perhaps?!), but she really rose to the occasion when it came time to open presents. She got lots of fun, new Pooh toys, a Plasma ride-on car, and a doll care center to take care of Abby. She was delighted with all of it. And we were delighted to finally see a smile on that sweet little face! Happy birthday, Claire!

Kaitlyn's Princess Party

So exhausted. Can't hardly type. But the photos are so stinking cute, I have to post them tonight.

Birthday Lunch

Kaitlyn insisted on having candles in her heart-shaped PB&J sandwich. Why not? Sing it again, Mom!

Happy 4th Birthday, Kaitlyn!

Rain! Presents! Donuts! It's been an exciting day already, and it's only 9:30 a.m.

Since Matt has to teach today and won't be home for dinner (homemade guacamole and chips, as requested), we did our little family party for Kaitlyn this morning. She got a sprinkled Krispy Kreme donut with four candles for breakfast, and a box of 20 mini donuts to share with her preschool class. After being serenaded, she moved on to presents. She got her own camera, a big-girl clock (that will tell her when she can get out of bed--fingers crossed!), a princess dress, a Curious George puzzle, and some princess doll clothes from us. Uncle Jason sent her a Tinker Bell doll that was very well received. And then the girls headed upstairs to find their gifts from Jo, Kyle, Tommy and Adrienne--their very own easy chairs. We got some smiles there, too!

Happy birthday, Kaitlyn!

A little green to celebrate the day.

A Touch of Color

Spring is in the air...chalk is on the walk! The kids and I have been having fun drawing on the sidewalk during the past few sunny days. Kaitlyn has created a few masterpieces, whereas Jack is more interested in sporting the 3D glasses (actually, he'd rather be chewing on them, but the girls won't let him!)
